ACTIVE ALL YEAR ROUND

Red Triangle Active is a Scotland-wide general activities members’ group

During late summer last year, Red Triangle members had enjoyable visits to Cairngorm Lodge and Tomintoul Youth Hostels. In November last year, we met in Stirling Youth

Hostel for our annual social gathering, which included a short AGM and a planning session for 2012. Te year culminated in a trip to Glasgow for a seasonal cultural experience - the panto. Te Annual Dinner weekend in Edinburgh

Central in February is always a popular event, which allows members from around the country to meet up, enjoy a fine meal in our premier city Youth Hostel and experience a variety of activities regardless of the weather. Among the other monthly events planned for

2012 are visits to Inverness, Lochranza and Newton Stewart and we are looking forward to experiencing the splendidly refurbished Youth Hostel in Oban. A Speyside Way walking trip and wildlife watching at New Lanark will keep us active in May and June. The autumn sees us venturing over the border to

2012 SCOTTISH HOSTELLER 15

Berwick Upon Tweed and Arnside Youth Hostels. In addition to the support for SYHA, and the variety of activities which our visits to the Youth Hostels in all areas of the country allow us to enjoy, a major feature of our group events is the camaraderie and friendships which these shared experiences have brought. If you are interested in what Red Triangle Active

has to offer, it is free to SYHA members and we only ask that you supply an email address or at least six stamped self-addressed envelopes to keep you informed of forthcoming events.

MUNRO WALKING GROUP Tere has been a favourable response to the notice in the autumn Hosteller magazine and a new group is in the process of being organised with hopes that it will become active during the coming season.

CORBETT AND HILL TRACKS GROUP Tere is also the possibility of forming a group interested in doing longer hill track walks and tackling Corbetts.
