Wisper
WISPER 905SEL is the latest bike to be offered from Wisper’s e-bike stable. The 905sel, along with the step through version (705sel) will be available by spring. Both are fitted with high-end components including hollow tech cranks, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and Xtacy head set, stem and handle bars. The 37V 16Ah lithium polymer battery has an advanced battery management system. Its 592Wh capacity will drive the bike over 100 miles in perfect conditions. More importantly it will provide 40 to 50 miles of ‘real world’
power assisted riding. Wisper bikes use a new hi torque motor from Japanese Dapu. When coupled to the 592Wh battery the new Dapu motor produces high levels of torque enabling riders to navigate the steepest hills. The system boasts a diagnostics facility that locates any problems with the electronics via the handle bar LED. Elsewhere, the 806 Alpino is Wisper’s popular folding bike, driven through the Shimano Alfine 8 hub. Like the 905 and 705sel, it is made with stainless steel or aluminium alloys making the bike a favourite with yacht owners.

Cube
CUBE’S OWN EPO range of e-bikes includes the sporty Epo. Under perfect conditions, Cube says, the aerodynamic sear mounted 36V battery (9Ah/324 WH) allows impressive riding distances up to 100 km (62 miles). Batteries usually suffer after a certain amount of recharges, but Cube’s maintain a capacity of 80 per cent after a whopping 1,000 charges – or after 62,000 miles – according to the firm. Charging can be done while the battery is still on the frame or removed and the
Epo’s cables are all connected via a patented magnetic plug system. 180 mm disc brakes provide the braking power needed due to those higher average speeds. Cube has also come up with a theft prevention measure by way of the Wireless Control Remote. Sadly, this is not a Knight Rider/Kitt style device that you can remote control the bike home from an unaware thief, but an entirely more practical device that renders the bike inoperable if removed. EBCO
EBCO HAS RECENTLY introduced Solex e-bikes and e-scooters into the UK and Ireland and is looking for retailers to stock the brand. The iconic post war name sold eight million motorised scooters based on its 49cc engine built into a regular bicycle frame. It has recently re-launched with a range of three instantly recognisable red and black models: Velosolex (folding e-bike, SRP £1,299), Solexity (a low-step ebike SRP £1,799) and
e-Solex (e-scooter SRP £1,999). All three models have been designed by world famous Italian design house Pininfarina, those behind iconic cars like the Ferraris 599, 458 and California, the Maserati Quattroporte and the Alfa Romeo Spyder. The e-bikes are all powered by Solex’s own 250w brushless motors combined with high- capacity Lithium Polymer batteries. For further information contact Paul
