Weir Minerals Mexico opens hose shop


Weir Minerals Mexico has added to its capabilities with the opening of a hose shop installation at its Monterrey facilities. The new installation has equipment capable of manufacturing hoses up to 15 meters long and 14 inches diameter, to meet the needs of external and internal customers, primarily in minerals markets.

The workshop was opened in the traditional Mexican way by Ricardo Garib, Regional Managing Director, Latin America, Weir Minerals, together with Oscar Bauer, Chile Sales Manager and Martin Subiria, Mexico Director - with the ceremonial breaking of a Tequila bottle against the equipment.


Weir Gabbioneta looks east, as it focuses on value engineering


Plans to strengthen the competitive position of Weir Gabbioneta took a step forward with the development of a production and servicing site in Poland. The plant in Myszkow, near Katowice has a


covered area of 2700 sqm for production and 360 sqm dedicated to offi ces and social areas for employees. Weir Gabbioneta Poland will produce all overhung pumps and single stage vertical pumps


from the Gabbioneta and Begemann product ranges, with production of multistage pumps continuing in Italy. Service operations became available from mid-


February with production activities planned to start next month. Recruitment activities are ongoing in Poland with training currently being conducted for the fi rst selected local workers in Italy. The opening ceremony takes place next
