Weir Speciality Pumps welcomes Ed Smiley who has joined as Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

New Faces at Weir American Hydro


As Weir American Hydro looks to grow its business rapidly, several new team members have been recruited into its sales and marketing team, as well as its engineering team. Alan Roth has joined as Director of Proposals


& Marketing, reporting to Mark Self, VP of Sales and Marketing, and is responsible for the proposal and marketing of Hydro North America. Alan was previously the VP-Marketing Manager for HDR Engineering, Inc., based in York, Pennsylvania. Alan has worked in the hydroelectric generation industry for over 35 years and holds a degree in civil engineering from Bucknell University. Bill McCormick is Director of Government


Sales, also reporting to Mark Self and is responsible for hydro sales to the US government. Bill has worked in sales management for over 20 years and holds a degree in speech communication from the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh.


Paul Flammersfeld has joined as Proposals


Engineer, reporting to Alan Roth. His previous posts have included Technical Sales, Global Sales, Service and System Analyst. He holds a degree in engineering, from Lawrence Technological University in Southfi eld, Michigan. Jason Cradic has joined as a Proposal Specialist, reporting to Alan Roth. Most recently, Jason was the Technical Sales Manager for

Travaini Pumps USA Inc. and has a degree in business administration from Old Dominion University, Virginia.


Maxime Winterstein has joined as Sales and


Technical Manager in Europe, reporting to Doug Miller. Previously, Maxime was the Regional Sales Manager for Weir Power & Industrial Singapore. He holds a qualifi cation in maths, physics and chemistry from Lycee Louis Blaringhem, an HND equivalent in chemistry from the University Institute of Technology and a master 1 in business to business marketing and sales techniques from Douai Business School. Erin Dull has joined the company as


a Marketing Coordinator and will support proposals and marketing, reporting to Alan Roth. Most recently, Erin worked with Apex Energy Technologies as a manufacturer’s representative of engineered products and marketing. Erin holds a degree in public relations from American University in Washington, D.C. Also joining Weir American Hydro as Chief Hydraulic Engineer is Bob Rittase who has, for the past six years, served as the Manager of engineering and construction company HDR’s York, Pennsylvania offi ce where he was responsible for performing and managing hydroelectric consulting efforts on new and upgrade projects.


Ed has spent his 18-year career serving the industrial and municipal markets with an emphasis on sales, marketing and business development. He spent ten years with Grundfos Pump Corporation, and most recently worked in the compressed air industry as a sales director. Born and raised in western Kentucky, USA, Ed received a degree in marketing at Western Kentucky University and an MBA in Strategic Management and International Business from the University of Kansas.


Roberto Kuahara has been appointed as Executive VP - Continuous Improvement at Weir SPM. In this new position Roberto will focus on improving performance in the areas of safety, customer satisfaction (quality, OTD & lead time), reduction of waste and policy deployment. Roberto has an extensive background in the automotive industry with signifi cant experience in operations, quality, safety and lean manufacturing. Most recently he led continuous improvement for the Energy Group at Circor International.
