AFS Creates Compliance Regulatory Calendar
T e American Foundry Society (AFS) Environmental, Health and Safety Div. 10 created an electronic 2012 Com- pliance Regulatory Calendar to help metalcasters. T e American Foundry Society (AFS) Environmen-
tal, Health and Safety Div. 10 created an electronic 2012 Compliance Regulatory Calendar to help metalcasters meet deadlines throughout the year. T e calendar can be uploaded into Microsoft Outlook and has reminders programmed for events that may require attention. Alerts also appear in the normal calendar view. For those that do not use Outlook, the calendar can be uploaded as an Excel document. A 2012 calendar for safety regulations is also in the
works. T e calendar can be found on the AFS website,
www.afsinc.org.
AFS Announces Call for Sand Casting Papers
T e American Foundry Society issued a call for papers for
its Conference on Sand Casting Technology and Materials to be held Sept. 10-12. Submission can include presentations, technical papers and
practical case studies related to sand casting technologies. Topic suggestions are sand testing equipment and procedures, sand binders, green sand system maintenance and control, alternative molding media, material availability, sand reclamation, specialty sands, refractory coatings and sand binder technology. Abstracts are due by March 1, and projects are due by Aug.
