2011-2012 General Orders No. 4
1. Section 806A – Installation warrants shall be obtained using the procedures outlined by National Headquarters. If the offices of President and Treasurer are not bonded and/or quarterly audits are not done complying with Section 814A of the National Bylaws or an installing officer not authorized according to these Bylaws is chosen, any installation shall be null and void until such time as the Bylaws are complied with.
2. Your attention is directed to the National Bylaws, Article V, Section 504 – “Convention and Meetings, regarding Districts. Each District shall hold an annual District Convention for the purpose of electing District Officers and for the transaction of business, such Convention to be held not less than ten (10) days nor more than seventy-five (75) days prior to the convening of the Department Convention.”
3. Permission for use of the name and emblem of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States must be obtained from the National President in written form and submitted to the National Headquarters office. All commercial printers and vendors are subject to the penalties outlined in Title 18 of the U.S. Code. Use of the Ladies Auxiliary emblem in conjunction with websites or other electronic-type media also requires prior written approval by the National President. The Ladies Auxiliary emblem is a registered trademark. Sec. 1004
4. The 2012 National Convention will be held in Reno, Nevada, July 21-25, 2012. Advance registration is $15 and must be sent to the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, National Headquarters, 406 West 34th St., 10th Floor, Kansas City, MO 64111. Any member may register, but if she does not attend, the packet of material will be mailed after the Convention. Registration at the Convention is $20. Remember: National does not charge a delegate fee. You can also register online at

ADVANCE REGISTRATION MUST BE SENT TO HEADQUARTERS BY MAY 31. NO ADVANCE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THAT DATE. Please find a copy of the registration coupon on Page 11.
5. Section 305 – Delegates and Alternates to the National Convention shall be elected at the last regular meeting in April; one (1) Delegate and one (1) Alternate for each fifty (50) members or fraction thereof in good standing in the Ladies Auxiliary on the date of election of Delegates. The Ladies Auxiliary Secretary shall send the names of the Delegates and Alternates to the National Secretary, along with their membership ID number, within five (5) days of the date of election.
Ladies Auxiliary Secretaries will be able to input Delegates and Alternates (with ID numbers) online after April 1, 2012. This information will be used to print credentials. THEREFORE, NO CREDENTIALS will be mailed from National Headquarters as in the past.
6. Section 105 – Investigation – The Auxiliary President shall appoint a committee of three (3) members who shall make a careful investigation of the facts set forth in the application and shall see proof of honorable service of the eligible veteran unless he/ she is a member of the VFW Post to which the applicant is applying for membership. The committee shall recommend election or rejection based on eligibility as set forth in Article 1, Sec. 101.
7. The Ladies Auxiliary should maintain a cooperative relationship with its Post. Ladies Auxiliary members should work with the Post when requested to do so. The Ladies Auxiliary should not interfere in the internal affairs of the Post. The Post should not dictate the policies of the Ladies Auxiliary, as the Ladies Auxiliary shall be permitted to function in accordance with the National Bylaws, Booklet of Instructions and Ritual of
