President Leanne Lemley’s purpose and privilege during a November visit, for which she was accompanied by documentarian JoAnn Ketterer. First stop: the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Belgium just outside Brussels. There, Superintendent Bobby O. Bell and Cemetery Associate Caroline Oliver led a tour through a long colonnade forming a memorial to the chapel and museum. On the rectangular piers of the colonnade are inscribed the names of 450 of the missing United States Army and Army Air Forces who lost their lives in the service of their country. As is the memorial’s practice, a gold star had just been added beside one of
