VITAL STATISTICS: Thailand is a similar size to France and is bordered by Malaysia to the south, Burma to the west and north, Laos to the north and east and Cambodia to the southeast. The temperature is generally hot and tropical, cooler in the north. Local currency is the baht. Time is seven hours ahead of GMT.
GETTING THERE:
Direct flights take 11-12 hours. Thai Airways offers a double daily service from Heathrow. It has been flying from London for 39 years and currently has a 96-strong fleet. It is part of the Star Alliance and offers three classes: Royal First, Royal Silk and Economy (www.
thaiairways.co.uk). Other carriers include Eva Air, BA and Emirates.
SALES TIPS: Visit your local diving club and promote Thai learn-to-dive courses and liveaborad holidays. Link up with local therapists for a Thai themed night with optional foot massage!
