Go Card cuts Wichita prices
Ten Wichita-area attractions, in conjunction with Go Wichita Convention & Visitors Bureau, are introducing the Go Card. The discount admission programme is available throughout the year. The programme is designed to
encourage visitors to visit more than one of the Kansas city’s many attractions. A visitor pays full admission for each ticket at the first attraction they visit. At that time they will receive a Go Card for a $2 discount for each ticket they purchase at other participating attractions within the next seven days. Go Card participating attractions are:
• Botanica, The Wichita Gardens • Exploration Place • The Kansas African American Museum • Kansas Aviation Museum • Mid-America All-Indian Center • Museum of World Treasures
Great Lakes gets ready for more programme time
Two major tour operators are including the Great Lakes USA for the first time in 2012. Both North American Travel
Service (NATS) and The Vacations Group have joined Virgin Holidays and Complete North America in covering this diverse area of the mid- west of America. NATS has a 14-night fly-drive Great
Lakes tour, including a Michigan Lakes and Mackinac Island tour. The Vacations Group brochure has an
entire section devoted to ‘Great Lakes and Northeast’, with one page covering a Great Lakes fly-drive tour, one for an escorted tour and a six-page tailor-made section on the area. These tours are also being purchased through Tourmappers.

“I am delighted that the leaders of
these attractions were able to work together to create the Go Card plan,” said Maureen Hofrenning, Go Wichita vice president. “It offers great value to our visitors.
We’ll be reviewing the success of the programme and eagerly looking for ways to improve and expand on the idea.”

The Civil War six
The American Civil War Trails are now documented in a new brochure which features routes through six states – including West Virginia – to attract and guide history buffs to the region and experience the history found in this area. As part of the Civil War Trails, there
are a number of museums, historic small towns, plantations, and military cemeteries that can be visited. All of these attractions, including the battlefields, offer informative tours that appeal to tourists with little knowledge of the history. The trails which run through these
states all include interactive stops, as well as self-guided audio tours. Tours by Segway and bus to the areas most affected by the war are also included. See the dedicated website:
