Tourism Update HONG KONG AIRLINES
Anantara adds Vietnam
GERARD CLARKE General Manager, UK Hong Kong Airlines It has been a very
exciting time at Hong Kong Airlines and we are certainly on track for a successful launch on March 8. As you may know, we’re introducing an all-Club Class daily service between London-Gatwick and Hong Kong. I have assembled a great team
here in the UK, who come with a huge amount of relevant experience and some very impressive professional backgrounds. We have all been very busy laying
the groundwork for the launch, releasing fares and launching a big marketing campaign, but we have also been involved with the more unusual and colourful aspects of the job – from planning the layout for our impressive new office at Tower 42 in the city, to meal tasting with a panel of experts. As an all-Club Class operation,
the food has been great. Some of the team also flew down to the Airbus facilities in Toulouse to photograph the unique interior of our first of three brand-new Airbus A330-200s, which will be used exclusively on the London to Hong Kong route. We’ve also been creating opportunities for you, our trade partners, to learn about the whole experience offered to a Hong Kong Airlines customer, to Hong Kong and beyond to major cities in China, Japan and Southeast Asia. We know you’ll be impressed and hope you try us. Until then the Hong Kong Airlines
UK team and I wish you all a very Happy Year of the Dragon! If you want to know more, feel to

Western Australia, Tourism Malaysia, Centara Hotels and Resorts, Air Pacific and Creative Travel, India, will be there. In fact a massive 41% of our exhibitors are new to the PATA Exchange this year! Remember this is an appointment-only event. In 2011 PATA events in the UK attracted over 600 people and in 2012 we have big ambitions to more than double this figure. We're planning a major celebration of the 50th Anniversary of PATA in the UK and aim to have 3,000 registered users of
PATAAcademy.com, our on-line trade training programme. Happy Bookings!
