The story of this tomato starts in the ‘30s when the owner of a radiator shop was facing bank- ruptcy. Even though he was not a plant breeder, he tried breeding 4 varieties of tomatoes together and came up with this large, pink-skinned, tasty and meaty tomato. He sold 1,000 plants of this tomato for $1 each and was able to pay off the mortgage with the proceeds. Fruits average 2 lbs. and have very few seeds. Indeterminate.
