PUMPKINS PumPKin CultuRe
Plant after ALL danger of frost, when soil is warm. Plant 5-6 seeds in hills 6-8' apart. When seedlings are well started, thin to the strongest 2 plants in each hill. If you are trying to grow very large pumpkins, remove all flowers from the vines except 2 or 3. The best flowers to leave are the 4th or 5th and then one a little farther down the vine. The vines will then put all their energy into the 2 or 3 not removed. A packet contains 30 seeds unless otherwise stated. One oz. contains 120 seeds.
