Operation is natu- ral and intuitive. The Segway PT runs on electricity and has the equiv- alent energy efficiency of 450 miles per gallon. It is environmentally friendly, has zero emission and helps to alleviate parking congestion. Touring on a Segway is the ultimate, high-tech and fun alternative to a walking tour. BARE IT ALL
Stretching 2 miles long, Blacks Beach is a secluded beach with tall bluffs to the east. Prior to 1977 the city posted it as a “swimsuit option- al” area, but has since prohibited nudity there. Enforcement is weak, primarily due to the difficulty in accessing the beach; so many nud- ists (or ‘nakes’ as Surfers call them) still head to Black’s. Participate in a game of naked volleyball or Frisbee with Black’s Beach Bares, a group of local volunteers who go to Black’s every day to make sure it’s clean, safe and that everyone is behaving appropriately and respectfully. Aside from its clothing optional reputation, Black’s Beach is a popular surf spot for many experienced surfers. Waves here can often get to shoulder height or overhead, especially during big winter swells. Take the trail down and watch the surfers ride the waves… or take it all off and work on those stubborn tan lines!
SAFARI FLIGHTLINE Are you ready for a real adrenaline rush? Then head on over to
The San Diego Zoo Safari Park in Escondido and try Flightline, a zip line ride available to anyone age 10 or older and weighing at least 75 pounds, but no more than 250 pounds. The zip line ride is a thrill ride that can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike and is a unique experience that combines the thrill of flight with the scenery of the Safari Park. You will soar as high as 160 feet above the ground with rhinos, deer and more in the fields below you. You can also choose to record your flight with the Flightline Helmet Cam in 1080p High Definition. The ride costs $70 per person to fly with approximately 30 percent of the price going to wildlife conserva- tion. For more information on San Diego Zoo Safari Park, phone (619) 231-1515 or visit
