be cut out as shown on the plans, and then you can bend as indicated. A vise works well, and I found it was a good idea to bend both parts together, keeping the bends exactly the same. Again, make sure you are build- ing a right and a left part. Now, using a drill press, so that you drill

the hole straight, lay the plastic wheel hub on a piece of wood, and increase the center hole to exactly ¼ inch diameter. Take a piece of ¼-inch brass welding rod, and drill a 9⁄64 inch diameter hole straight through the middle; this will become the new wheel hub. The brass piece should be exactly ½ inch long. Now, insert the new brass hub into the plastic wheel, and when it protrudes

through one side .2 inches, epoxy it in place. Be careful not to get any epoxy through the center hole. Now, when you assemble the wheel into

the wheel pant, first put the 6-32 × 1 screw into the aluminum landing gear, then into the wheel pant, then through the wheel, and lastly, install the #6-32 locknut onto the end of the screw. When there is just a small small clearance between the brass hub and the nut, you are finished: the wheel will turn nicely, and the locknut should stay in place. Lastly, install the small wood screw through the aluminum into the wheel pant, to keep the wheel pant straight. Fuselage: The fuselage is a bit tricky if

you try to glue it all together at once. In Fig. 3, I am showing several pieces glued together, but I started by just gluing the top wing mount to F3 and F5. I had the fuse sides in place to hold the correct angles on F3 and F5, and when those joints had dried, I then removed the fuse sides, and then glued them back on. Note that the oak wing blocks are also in place, and I screwed the nylon wing bolts into the oak blocks to make sure the wing blocks were exactly over the holes in the top wing mount. When this step was done, you will also note that ¼-inch oak spacers were put under the top of the fuse, because F3 protrudes through the top of the fuse.
