7 NOVEMBER: LOS ANGELES


Kate Major was denied passage by Delta Airlines due to being allegedly intoxicated and then refused to disembark the aircraft. Police were


called and she was removed from the flight. Major is romantically involved with troubled actress Lindsay Lohan’s father.


9 NOVEMBER: SHARM EL-SHEIKH An Egyptian man tried to open the door of an Egyptair flight operating from Sharm el-Sheikh to Cairo. Airport police found that the passenger was drunk and unstable due to his dismissal from work at a hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh.


10 NOVEMBER: CAIRO An argument between two men over a cigarette – one was trying to take it away from the other – resulted in a Saudi Arabian Airlines flight en route from Cairo to Riyadh turning back to Cairo where both men were taken into custody.


13 NOVEMBER: BOSTON Torry Johnson was arrested on the arrival of his Icelandair flight from Reykjavik for allegedly stealing $300 from Chief Purser Dagbjört's purse while the plane was overflying Greenland. The crew is reported to have confronted Johnson, at which point he returned a handful of Icelandic krónas, then dashed to the toilet and locked himself inside.


Police think he flushed the rest of the missing money down the toilet.

18 NOVEMBER: FRANKFURT A Continental flight, en route from Newark to Tel Aviv, diverted to Frankfurt after a passenger became disruptive.


21 NOVEMBER: SAN DIEGO Dr. Paul Frohna is alleged to have been disruptive on a British Airways flight from London to San Diego and ended up being restrained.


25 NOVEMBER: AMSTERDAM A male passenger became aggressive and attempted to open the doors of a KLM flight en route from Johannesburg to Amsterdam. He was arrested on arrival.


25 NOVEMBER: BALTIMORE William D. Barna, 34, was arrested on arrival off a Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta for allegedly assaulting a passenger as the aircraft was making its descent into Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.


27 NOVEMBER: NEW YORK


Antonio Ynoa, 22, allegedly punched a flight attendant in the face on a JetBlue flight from the Dominican Republic to John F. Kennedy International Airport. The incident happened when


the flight attendant tried to prevent Ynoa drinking his duty-free alcohol.


25 SEPTEMBER: KATHMANDU, NEPAL Tribhuvan International Airport was closed for half an hour after a bomb threat against a Spice Air jet about to depart for New Delhi. Threse Joanmarian, 62, had allegedly told her four co-passengers that a bomb had been planted on the flight.


25 SEPTEMBER: REGGIO CALABRIA, ITALY An anonymous phone caller to the airport’s control tower said there was an explosive device inside the airport premises.


25 SEPTEMBER: LOS ANGELES


Lizet Sariol, 45, is alleged to have implicated her former boyfriend in a threat to a United Airlines flight. She is said to have made an

19 SEPTEMBER: SAN FRANCISCO A clerk at a bookstore in San Francisco International Airport found a bomb threat note citing an Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle to Oakland.


20 SEPTEMBER: LIMA, PERU Four children, aged 7 to 11, were arrested for telephoning the police and telling them that there was a bomb at the airport.


20 SEPTEMBER: JACKSONVILLE Haven Taylor handed a threatening note to the crew as she boarded a flight to Atlanta. It read, "I want to Hijack [sic] this plane. I AM UNARMED [sic]. I wish to go to jail ASAP [sic]. I'm sitting in seat SEAT 19A [sic]." When interrogated, Taylor allegedly told the FBI that she was suicidal and wanted to go to jail, being the only place where she feels safe from herself. She claimed she had no intent of actually hijacking the airplane, and said she had done the same thing in Orlando in 2003, following which she had been hospitalised.


13 NOVEMBER: NEW ORLEANS


Albert Pratt IV was arrested for punching a Continental Airlines check-in kiosk so hard, out of frustration that he couldn’t access his flight information, that it shattered the screen


and put the computer terminal out of commission; his hand was also injured.


14 NOVEMBER: GANDER An American Airlines flight, en route from Chicago to London, diverted when an intoxicated 63-year-old American man had to be restrained.


28 NOVEMBER: WASHINGTON DC Charles Beckman, 56, was arrested on his arrival off a United Airlines flight from Chicago and charged with public intoxication and interfering with a flight crew. He is alleged to have been screaming and kicking the walls in the First Class section.


28 NOVEMBER: BERGEN, NORWAY A 50-year-old man was arrested at Flesland airport after his disruptive behaviour on a flight from Egypt to Bergen. The intoxicated man apparently spent the flight hitting walls and cabinets as well as behaving indecently towards flight attendants.
