These components can all be coated with a variety of sophisticated, high performance thin films, including polarisation control and spatially variable coatings. REO can create a wide range of optomechanical assemblies, including monolithic assemblies constructed utilising REO’s unique, adhesive-free, Activated Covalent Bonding technology. Additionally, REO produces high performance HeNe lasers. Markets served include semiconductor process equipment, aerospace, defence systems, telecom, laser manufacturers, materials processing and life sciences instrumentation. www.reoinc.com

Xio photonics will demonstrate its latest product, Hyperion, based on its Integrated Laser- Beam Combiner (ILBC). Hyperion is said by Xio to be an easy to use and compact laserbox, a source for user’s laser light. Xio’s ILBC combines up to eight visible wavelength lasers into one single mode and polarisation maintaining fibre. The main applications for this product are confocal microscopy, flow-cytometry and food sorting. They are applications where different visible laser colours need to be combined and the current solutions don’t meet the requirements regarding compactness, robustness or polarisation behaviour. www.xiophotonics.com

Freiburg-based Z-laser optoelektronik is to present some of the various laser modules of the series ZM18 and ZM12. These are available with several optical projections like multi-lines or circles in red, IR, green and blue wavelengths (up to 200mW). The smallest module is ZM12- DM5 with a 45mm M12 housing. They come with a supply voltage range of 5-30V DC, a focus ability

option, modulation and are always customised. An improvement is the high power (up to 6000mW/600- 1100nm) and high-precision (Boresight accuracy < 3mrad) laser source ZQ2. It is an all-in-one-case solution with integrated optics, electronics and active temperature control. It comes with a variety of communication interfaces: RS-232,

USB, Ethernet, PLC – each of them galvanically isolated.

Outstanding beam quality and laser line performance will also be available – including fibre, homogeneous lines, collimated beam, structured light projections. The laser source is temperature controlled for improved wavelength stability. www.z-laser.com

Photomultipliers from ET Enterprises and ADIT Electron Tubes

Need to detect light down to single photon level? Need dark counts as low as a few cps without cooling? Need a detection area of up to 200cm2 or more?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then ET Enterprises, and sister company ADIT Electron Tubes in the US, may have the answer with their range of photomultipliers and associated electronics and hardware.

Photomultipliers have always offered significant performance advantages over other types of low-level light detection devices and this is as true today as ever before. But what has changed is that photomultipliers are now much easier to use due to the wide range of ready-to-use associated electronics and HV supplies, and modular analogue and photon counting systems, in many cases operating from low voltage.

Examples of how we can make using photomultipliers easier:

.. ..

.

Sockets and voltage dividers for almost any photomultiplier type and application Magnetic shields

Modular signal processing electronics, analogue or digital

HV power supplies, including bench-top and compact, and low power integral HV bases Light-tight housings incorporating different combinations of all of the above

And, of course, we can also supply the photomultipliers for your application. Not only can we offer our very wide range, including alternatives to many Photonis types, we will soon be able to offer some popular Burle types, having recently acquired the Burle photomultiplier production plant.
