laser Quantum will release its Pure line of lasers, featuring incredibly low noise specifi cations, ideal for applications such as CEP and cytometry. The Pure line compliments Laser Quantum’s popular Finesse and Opus 532nm CW ranges, where 2012 sees the introduction of a 15W Finesse and a 5W Opus. Applications include Ti: Sapphire pumping, semiconductor wafer inspection and optical trapping. Also on display will be Laser
iD Quantique’s d220-FR-SMF brings a major breakthrough for single photon detection in free-running mode at telecom wavelengths. It provides a cost-effective solution for applications in which asynchronous photon detection is essential. The cooled InGaAs/ InP avalanche photodiode and associated electronics have been specially designed for achieving low dark count and afterpulsing rates in free-running mode. The module can operate at two detection probability levels of 10 per cent and 20 per cent with a deadtime that can be set between 600ns and 25ms. Arrival time of photons is refl ected by a 100ns TTL pulse available at the SMA connector with a timing resolution as low as 250ps at 20 per cent effi ciency. A simple USB interface allows the user to set the effi ciency level and the deadtime. A standard FC/PC connector followed by a single mode fi bre is provided as optical input.

Quantum’s expanding Tau range of lasers, currently available at 532nm, 594nm and 671nm with a common compact footprint. The Tau’s rugged, monoblock design makes it ideal for OEM integration. Power ranges from 30mW to 50mW. Finally, we will show our mid-power lasers, at 473nm, 532nm, 660nm and 671nm, with powers from 50mW to 1W and beyond. All lasers are available with fi bre solutions.

polarising fi lters, and fi bre optic assemblies. Also on display will be photon counting modules, avalanche photodiodes (APDs) and pulsed laser diodes (PLDs) as well as drive electronics, hybrids, and complete modules. Also on show will be IR lead salt diode lasers (3-25µm) and Specdilas spectroscopic diode lasers.

nit has launched its ATIR Switch, an infrared (IR) switch for industrial applications that is able to detect and scan hot objects without contact. Able to operate in the medium wave IR range of one to fi ve microns the switch can detect objects in a wide range of temperatures. Advanced microprocessor-based electronics provide both analogue and digital outputs. As such the device can be used for counting or a triggering process involving high-speed moving hot objects. Its characteristics also make it a useful tool for quality control in glass, steel, paper, cement, and plastic manufacturing industries. The device includes optics and custom software for data acquisition
