CHRISTMAS is a time for reflection as well as celebration, as the curtain comes down on another eventful 12 months in the channel. With the global financial crisis showing no sign of easing, how many of you will be glad to see the back of 2011? The key question for many business owners is where do you see your company in 12 months time? For me one of the best ways
forward is for dealers to maximise their ability to identify key areas of emerging opportunities. Choice has never been an issue for the communications
industry. The challenge for resellers has always been when to join the party, be it hosted, unified comms or the cloud. Timing and picking the right partner are crucial but it’s not an easy mandate. Bravery, foresight and often a gut instinct play a part, but stand still for too long and there’s a real danger you’ll get left behind in an increasingly IP centric landscape. Conferencing is proving a good way for our customers to add additional sales, as in a perverse way, the bleaker the economic outlook the easier it becomes to sell. High fuel costs and a desire for businesses to cut back on overheads make audio and video conferencing an ideal and effective solution, generating quick returns on investment. There’s even a dedicated audio conferencing unit for the mobile market that offers complete freedom and flexibility, while we’ve been working hard to offer resellers a more cost-effective entry into the world of VC. Continued advances in technology will also create many opportunities. How quickly it’s adapted and embraced will ultimately shape the future. Gamma’s big mobile push
A NEW mobile pricing propo- sition launched by Gamma Mobile has been enthusiasti- cally welcomed by the firm’s channel partners.
The pricing model is designed to drive mobile and fixed sales and builds on the already suc- cessful 1p/min on-net pricing for calls from Gamma fixed lines to Gamma Mobiles, with a range of new pricing structures and incentives.
The new pricing structures also add a complete suite of mobile bundles and bolt-ons to complement Gamma’s new Blackberry service. Neil Linter, MD of Gamma reseller Glemnet, stated: “The new pricing enables us deliver a true business-class fixed and mobile service at a great price. “We are now well positioned
to offer the full range of services to our business customers.” Gamma’s mobile pricing consists of a set of on-net, pay- per-call and bundle prices giv- ing channel partners control over the pricing and profit for fixed and mobile services. A range of incentives give partners options of free Black- berry line rental, connection bonuses and a trip to Las Vegas for top performing partners.

Midus Communications has become an official partner of Colchester United to supply its members with packages for broadband, line rental and call costs. Midus is also helping to grow the Colchester United Youth team through sponsorship.
