We would like to explain some of the defi nitions and features of our insurance cover for you.
key facts
Cooling off period: Your policy contains a 14 day cooling off period, during which you can cancel the policy and get a refund, if you have a justifi able reason for being dissatisfi ed with the cover it provides.
Pre-existing health conditions: If any participant, or any other person on whom the travel plans depend, has ever had treatment for any heart condition or circulatory condition, a stroke or high blood pressure, any breathing condition (including asthma), any type of cancer, any type of diabetes, any psychological condition, any existing injury or other serious or recurring medical condition, any condition requiring long term, prescribed medication or if you or they are receiving or awaiting investigation for any medical condition, you must advise the insurers via PGL to see if additional cover is available. Insurers reserve the right to impose terms. You will receive confi rmation in writing of their decision.
Conditions, Exclusions & Terms: Conditions and exclusions will apply to individual sections of your policy while general exclusions, conditions and warranties will apply to the whole policy.
Property Claims: These claims are paid based on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not on a “new for old” or replacement cost basis.
Policy Limits: Most sections of the policy have limits on the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include other specifi c limits, for example for any one item or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy if you intend taking expensive items with you, which we advise against.
Policy Excesses: Under most sections of the policy claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying the fi rst part of the claim. The amount you have to pay is called the excess.
Reasonable Care: You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property as if you were uninsured, otherwise your claim may be refused.
Complaints: The insurance policy includes a Complaints Procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
Dangerous Sports or Pastimes: If you are going to take part in dangerous sports or pastimes where there is a risk of injury, check that your policy covers you. All activities offi cially organised and implemented by PGL are covered.
Policy Document: This gives full details of what is not covered and conditions of the cover. A copy will be sent to you on booking, or earlier on request.
Law: The Insurance Policy will be subject to the law of England and Wales unless otherwise agreed.
Please ensure you read your insurance policy carefully. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions of the policy may result in cover being restricted.
PGL are an Appointed Representative of Fogg Travel Insurance Services Limited who with the Insurers are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
The small print (important - please read)
Please take time to read the following terms and conditions carefully. They are the basis of the contract between yourself and PGL.
A contract will exist between us when we have taken your booking and required payment. You will then automatically receive a confi rmation/invoice detailing exactly what has been booked. If you think anything is incorrect please contact us straight away. All correspondence will be with the person named on the confi rmation invoice who accepts the following conditions on behalf of all participants. The contract between us is governed by English Law and any dispute will be dealt with under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Any monies paid to an appointed agent will be held by the agent for PGL until they are paid over to PGL.
Your fi nal payment and travel tickets
The balance of your account is payable ot later than 12 weeks before holiday commencement. If payment is not made by the due date, we reserve the right to advise you of the cancellation of your holiday booking and make a cancellation charge at the appropriate rate. Full payment must accompany bookings made within 12 weeks of departure.
The Package Travel, Package Holidays, and Package Tours Regulations 1992 require us to provide security for the monies that you pay for the holiday booked from this brochure and for repatriation in the event of our insolvency. We provide this security by way of a bond held by ABTA.
Changing your booking or travel If, after you have confi rmed your booking, you wish to make any alterations, an administration charge of £25 will be made per child. Any such amendment may be telephoned to PGL in the fi rst instance but must be confi rmed in writing immediately thereafter with the appropriate amount enclosed. However, if a major amendment is requested less than 8 weeks prior to the starting date of the holiday, we reserve the right to treat your request as a cancellation and charge the appropriate cancellation fee as detailed below.
In order that all our staff have the correct information we cannot accept additions or alterations to travel arrangements within 7 days of the commencement of the holiday. If we are forced to make changes PGL will do its utmost to provide all of the arrangements that have been confi rmed, but must reserve the right to alter or cancel any activities, accommodation or other arrangements, including escorted travel, if operational, weather or other considerations so dictate.
If we have to make a major change to your holiday, we will offer a suitable alternative if available, or 100% refund, if we are not able, in our opinion, to offer an alternative that is suffi ciently comparable. Compensation will be paid as below if we have to make a major change to your holiday within 8 weeks of holiday commencement, unless the change is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to war, riot, civil commotion, act of God, industrial dispute, Government action, epidemic, disease, adverse weather or natural disaster.
• 56–29 days – 10% of holiday price • 28–15 days – 15% of holiday price • 14 days or less – 25% of holiday price
