As this recent Changewave survey displays, Apple’s position as the dominant corporate tablet has not deviated over the past quarter. Significantly, this 80 per cent share is of an increasingly bigger pie. According to data by from technology research group Gartner, by 2013, 80% of businesses will support a workforce using tablets.


The professional landscape most altered by the iPad is undoubtedly the mobile technology industry. While this may seem obvious, it is an interesting sector to look at as it is the forerunner for tablet usage trends that may emerge more universally in the future. For example, according to a Social Cast survey, 27.4% of mobile workers believed the tablet could replace the laptop as the mobile device of choice in the future. While this may not be set to happen immediately, it is an interesting projection from those who work with these devices the most.
