Dr Greg Whyte PhD, BSc (Hons Welcome I was very lucky recently to be given a treasured iPad. For those of you

who have been subscribing to sportEX medicine since our launch in 1999, a lot has changed in the way media is delivered. We have provided our content online since 2003, at the time, amazingly, that was quite cutting edge, while now it’s a given! Our website (while a little outdated-looking) still hosts every single article that we’ve published during that time.

As a publisher, I can’t help but be excited about the future when I hold the iPad in my hands! I have avidly downloaded every magazine available on the iPad and I pour through them, fascinated by what works and what doesn’t and what the future might hold for specialist publications like sportEX. Apple dissenters might look the other way but it won’t take long before there is a rash of similar products on the market and when it comes to delivering media, there is no doubt they open up a whole new world of opportunity.

At the moment we’re just too small to justify an iPad app but if you get a chance to play with the iPad, checkout The Times app which has been beautifully built specifically for this medium and offers an early flavour of what the future will undoubtedly bring. In the meantime please take the time to visit our online versions (online access is now included with all subscriptions) by logging into the sportEX website. They are designed with one thing in mind - to bring our content to life. The subject matter we cover in all the sportEX titles lends itself beautifully to this new, dynamic, visual medium and I can’t wait to share this publishing future with you!

Enjoy the summer of sport! Tor Davies, publisher tor@sportex.net
