SV programme
ASCOD SV has the performance to handle all the requirements of all the variants

Issue 13 Dynamics 9
Flexible architecture
The General Dynamics UK Core Information and Distribution System (CIDS) provides a modular, flexible electronics framework for an open Electronic Architecture (EA).
It supports capabilities such as: systems control; data security and partitioning; power management; and health and usage monitoring of key systems and components, such as fuel and ammunition states, system loads, available battery power, data integrity and so on.
This modular EA makes it possible to rapidly re-role the vehicle allowing for simpler mission tailoring.
Adaptability
ASCOD SV has in-built growth potential. The current 34 tonne base configuration has four tonnes available for payload. But the transmission and running gear can handle 42 tonnes and the engine can be uprated to provide 25 per cent more power.
The platform is capable of accommodating a huge variety of weapons, systems and roles, such as armoured personnel carrier, protected mobility vehicle, armoured recovery vehicle, command vehicle, direct fire platform and many more.
Reliability and maintainability
The advanced Electronic Architecture (EA) provides data that allows for predictive maintenance and more efficient logistics resupply.
The Core Information and Distribution System (CIDS) reduces or eliminates many complex wiring looms easing the maintenance and repair task.
The use of a Common Base Platform means there is a high level of commonality across variants.
Value for money
ASCOD SV is based on a proven platform, reducing risk.
The huge growth potential in the Common Base Platform eliminates the need for a mid-life upgrade.
