Performance and mobility
ASCOD SV has the performance to handle all the requirements of all the variants.
The 600KW (750HP) powerpack is a proven unit already in service in the Ulan, Pizzaro and Boxer. It offers long maintenance periods, low fuel consumption for its class, and low maintenance costs. It has power to spare, capable of giving the vehicle acceleration of 0-30mph in under 14 secs and a top speed of 45mph.
The digitally controlled transmission is also a proven unit, found in the GE Puma APC. It allows ASCOD SV to perform a 360-degree pivot turn in under 11 seconds.
All this power means that ASCOD SV has excellent agility and great tactical performance.
The vehicle is A400M airportable allowing immediate operational availability in theatre.
Fighting power
The Scout variant features an advanced turret designed to enhance lethality and improve conditions for the crew.
There is room for the commander and gunner to work alongside each other for extended periods. And there is space to position systems optimally for easier use in combat and better task-sharing.
Advanced sensor systems – including a laser rangefinder and thermal imaging – improve situational awareness.
The dual-axis, stabilised 40mm telescopic weapon system packs a real punch. This combination of sensor and weapon systems allows the crew to simultaneously interrogate the environment and engage known threats.

High levels of protection
Sloping front armour, side skirts and passive armour panels provide protection against blast, RPGs and armour-piercing rounds.
The ASCOD SV Common Base Platform has an integrated protected design structure of lightweight armoured steel. And its concave, homogenous hull floor with integral composite floor provides protection against mine blasts.
Roof-mounted, armour-protected seats mean that blast is not transmitted from floor to crew.
The electronic architecture supports an active defence controller, laser warning systems and obscurant dischargers for added protection.
