“Nail art is all about using your imagination,” says Audrey Heffernan, OPI Trainer at Hennessy Hair And Beauty Ltd. “There is no right or wrong way to nail art, it’s all about what works best for your clientele.”
“Finding the time to create nail art in a busy salon can be difficult and not all nail technicians are confident in creating nail art from scratch or have the time to do so,” says David Boyle General Manager of Beauty Express. “In a busy salon, you don’t always have time to spend hours on nail art but with a growing demand for it, why miss out on an opportunity to provide clients with a service they want and the profit it brings?”
Simple and sticky
“If you find it hard to do nail art and you are just not the artistic person, nail stickers are the way to go,” says Audrey. “With a such a wide variety available nowadays, there’s something there to suit all kinds of people…Nail stickers are easy and fast to apply at an affordable price.” There are so many ranges of nail wraps and stickers available at the moment you really are spoilt for choice. With options that range from veneers that are UV cured, to simple stick on wraps there’s a choice to suit every budget and level of skill.
Freehand fun
“Drawing nail art can be very time consuming in a salon but it does give an excellent result,” says Audrey. “Glitters and stripers are also very common nowadays…Glitters work well with acrylic or gel nails. If these are applied and set in the acrylic and gel, it will give a great finish.” If you dont feel confident enough to go freehand at first, practise first on a nail wheel or get family and friends to let you use them as your guinea pig. Your designs don’t have to be massively intricate to make an impact, even a simple spotted or striped design can jazz up a basic manicure.
“Stripers are great to start off with it you are not confident in nail art,” agrees Audrey. “A simple stripe with a diamond gem attached is a simple, nice look.”

They are available from Euro Products and can be applied without the use of a lamp, and are easily removed using the heat from a hairdryer.
