This year was the most important year of Pippa O’Connor’s life, as she married TV presenter Brian Ormond, cementing them as one of Ireland’s most high profile couples. Oonagh Clarke catches up with an extremely busy Pippa for a chat about her beauty tips, as she finished shooting a TV programme for RTE about the build up to her big day.
Oonagh: Congratulations on your wedding. You looked amazing. How important is how you look to your career?
Pippa: In my career I mostly rely on my looks so it’s important I look after myself and my appearance. I try to do some exercise (although I don’t enjoy it!) and I will drink a lot of water so my skin’s well hydrated.
Oonagh: Tell me about your beauty regime.
Pippa: I don’t have a strict beauty regime. I use bits and pieces of everything. I like to try different products all the time. I always wash cleanse and tone my skin. At night time I will use oil on my face.
Oonagh: Do you have any treatments done in the salon and if so what is your favourite?
Pippa: I enjoy getting my nails done. I go to Carter Beauty regularly to get a three-week manicure. I love that. As a treat I will get a pedicure done too, they do great pedicures and have big comfy seats! I get hair treatments done every so often at my hairdressers Peter Mark in Stephens Green Shopping Centre. My hair feels great after it.
Oonagh: What do you think is your best feature?
Pippa: People tell me my eyes are my best feature.

Oonagh: Would you ever consider Botox® or fillers?
Pippa: I would never rule out options but at the moment and in the foreseeable future I wouldn’t get anything like Botox®. I’m too young and I feel people get addicted to it.
Oonagh: You always look immaculate, but are there any beauty mistakes you will admit to?
Pippa: I’ve made loads of mistakes growing up like over plucking my eyebrows, dyeing my hair too dark and wearing white make-up!!
Oonagh: As this is an article for Irish Beauty would you consider yourself an Irish Beauty?
Pippa: Well I’ve lots of freckles and fair skin so I suppose that makes me an Irish Beauty!
Oonagh: Generally, do you think Irish women are beautiful?
Pippa: I think Irish women are some of the most beautiful women in the world.
Oonagh: Finally Pippa what woman do you admire most and why?
Pippa: I admire all sorts of women. I admire women who juggle parenting and careers. I also admire women like Oprah and Michelle Obama, they are strong and inspirational.
