Q. What products will you be showcasing at the event specific to the Middle East healthcare sector? A. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a complex disease of the immune system that affects around 1% of the population and can worsen over time and can cause permanent joint damage. With RA, the body mistakenly attacks healthy joints, causing joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and damage that can get worse over time. RA is a serious disease, and in some patients permanent joint damage can begin to happen within the first 12 months, though for some people, it can take much longer. If a patient is suspected to have rheumatoid arthritis, he should see a rheumatologist who is specialized knowledge and training in the diagnosis and treatment of RA. Abbott’s breakthrough arthritis treatment,

HUMIRA, is a prescription medicine used alone, with methotrexate, or with certain other medicines to reduce the signs and symptoms of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults. HUMIRA has proved that it may prevent further damage to the patient’s bones and joints, and may help patient’s ability to perform daily activities. HUMIRA is currently one of the world’s best selling drugs.
