ANAESTHESIA AND CRITICAL CARE CONCERNS IN MORBID OBESITY

O
besity is a chronic disease and is spreading like an epidemic throughout the
world. This has not only affected the western world but also Middle East, Pacific Islands, South East Asia and China are facing great challenges. The World Health Organization estimates over 1.7 billion people around the globe are overweight and 310 million are obese. This dramatic increase has serious health concerns and the world over is facing an increased prevalence of diabetes and other obesity related co-morbidities.
