AIR APPARENT Busch lost the lead on the fi nal
restart and was unable to get it back. “If I got too close, I’d lose the air off my car and I couldn’t get a run,” he said. Photo: Chuck Yadmark
HERO TO ZERO Logano won the pole, led 43 laps
and had one of his best races before fading at the end. A fl at tire late in the race buried him. “What can you do?” said crew chief Greg Zipadelli. “We did all we could.” Photo: Chuck Yadmark
THAT HURT A late-race crash with Kasey Kahne
left Montoya with a poor fi nish and hurt his Chase hopes. “It’s frustrat- ing because you want better results than this but it just didn’t work out,” Montoya said. Photo: Chuck Yadmark

Fighting for third, Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson banged on each other on the fi nal lap. Busch got the position, Johnson fi nished fourth, but their battle continued on pit road after the race. “He’s pretty much a smartass and wants to run his mouth,” Johnson said. Busch had no regrets. “I raced him hard, I raced him smart, I raced him clean,” he said.
