Pumps, pipework, controls and motive power are fully- integrated and the packages are manufactured off-site, for fast, efficient installation. The traditional approach to purchasing a pumping system is to procure pumps, pipework and controls separately, and build the system on site. As a leading supplier of off- site manufactured packaged plant and integrated plantrooms, Armstrong is extremely experienced in offering a more effective option. The new 8000 Series of Fully Integrated Pumping Modules however takes this a step further. The new 8000 Series are complete fluid management systems, pre-designed and pre-assembled by Armstrong that can be configured to suit the widest range of applications, with a choice of four levels of control. Costs involved in designing the system are removed, and as the pump solutions are designed by Armstrong (a world-leading manufacturer of HVAC equipment with almost 80 years of experience in pump design) they offer the best possible integration of pumps with controls technology for exceptional performance.

New from JS Air Curtains

JS Air Curtains is launching the new Standesse air curtain with energy saving wire rapid-heat elements and an attractive modern design. The Standesse is available in four 0.5m lengths from 1m to 2.5m and has a powerful output of up to 6,300m³/h, making the air curtain ideal for protecting doorways up to 3.5m high. It has an attractive stainless steel stripe across the front and is available in any RAL colour. The air curtain can be heated with either electric or hot water heating and is also available as an air only model. Adjustable outlet lamellas allow the user to direct the airflow to create a tight seal across a doorway and stop the heat escaping in the winter and the air conditioning from cooling the pavement in the summer.

The Standesse incorporates wire heating elements with a

very fast heat-up time. The elements can reach temperature in only 10 seconds, unlike regular heating elements, which can take up to 50 seconds. After this short period the power to the elements does not need to be constant in order to maintain temperature.

The latest addition to Climaveneta’s Accurate range of close control air conditioning units is the i-Accurate series of direct expansion inverter compressor models, designed to maximise energy efficiency at partial cooling loads. These partial cooling loads account for around 75% of normal operating time in such applications. Ideal for data centres and

other business-critical areas, the i- Accurate series delivers high efficiency at all loads, with up to 50% savings compared to traditional on/off technology. It also provides more accurate control of temperature and humidity in response to changing conditions. Where required, i- Accurate DX models can be combined with a secondary chilled water circuit to provide free cooling when ambient temperatures permit.

Cooling capacities range from 7kW to 90kW, using DC

brushless inverter compressors from models up to 30kW and AC inverters for higher capacities. Further energy savings, typically in the order of 15%, are achieved through the use of a new generation of fans with EC electronic switching technology – which also reduce noise levels by 4-5 dB(A).

www.climaveneta.co.uk VISIT OUR WEBSITE: www.bsee.co.uk Fast fit dividers

Flexicon has introduced a range of fast fit reducing dividers to make cable installation simpler and quicker. The reducing dividers, commonly referred to as trouser legs, are available in a number of different sizes, for conduit of 16mm reducing to 13mm, for 21mm to 16mm, 28mm to 21mm and 34mm to 28mm.

The dividers are part of the FPA and FPAX system of fittings into which flexible conduit can be fitted and secured in less than three seconds. The conduit is simply pushed into the fitting and then twisted to secure; the fitting has a high pull off strength of up to 70Kg, but can be released if necessary using a screwdriver.

The dividers have rounded internal corners for easy pull through of cables and mounting lugs for secure fixing. They are ideal for applications where cables need to be rerouted. Other benefits of the FPA and FPAX ranges include tamper resistance, suitability for both fine and coarse pitch flexible conduit and for temperatures between -50°C to 135°C. In addition it is a low fire hazard product that is halogen, sulphur and phosphorous free.

Venture’s V5 system

Venture Lighting’s new V5 electronic HID lighting system provides high efficiency, highly controllable HID lighting for a wide range of high bay and low bay applications. It comprises advanced electronic control gear and metal halide lamps (optimised to work in harmony for maximum efficiency) as well as a specially designed reflector. As such the V5 system offers many advantages over older style HID lighting and the T5 fluorescent systems that are sometimes considered for high bay and low bay applications. Typical efficiencies are around 93%, with the ability to dim lamps to 10% of full lumen output. Lamp life is 30,000 hours using standard lamps, with a maintained lumen output of 85%. Unlike T5 lighting, the V5 system is not affected by ambient temperatures and can be dimmed within minutes of being switched on for the first time. As Venture is one of the few companies that manufactures both lamps and control gear, the V5 system takes full advantage of these synergies. Further efficiencies are achieved from the special reflector design which is being made available to all manufacturers of high and low bay luminaires.

www.venturelightingeurope.com Don’t think of it as waste

All over the world companies and governments are investing billions to develop new sources of energy. Yet, according to heat transfer specialists, Alfa Laval Limited, all of them could save time and money simply by getting much more out of the energy they already consume.

According to the International Energy Agency most companies use up to 50% more heat energy than they need to as a matter of course. Yet, with the right technology, most, if not all, of that heat is recoverable says Alfa Laval. Some authoritative sources claim that the amount saved would be equal to three times the total current output of the global nuclear industry. Alfa Laval has produced an informative, fact-filled booklet,

Waste Heat Recovery - Optimising your energy system, that spells out the potential benefits; highlighting where energy is most likely to be wasted; how to recover it and recycle it to reduce energy consumption; how to profit from greater energy efficiency and how to transform waste heat recovered from one source into productive heat for another. Copies of the booklet are available to download from the

website. www.alfalaval.com
