Eric: I like my watches to be functional and legible, so this handsome model ticks a lot of boxes. But I’d prefer the dial to be black or even coloured as it’s a little too simple for my tastes. The strap appeals to me, but I always prefer to have a day as well as a date.

Jane: Eric likes things to be functional, but I am concerned this watch is a bit safe for his tastes. I think it would look very good on him, especially when he’s in one of his classic suits. The details on the strap are quite interesting. Eric likes his watches to have a calendar, but he likes a day window too.

Eric: This is a very impressive piece of kit. Although it has a lot going on, it is all presented very cleanly. There are far more features on this than I’d normally look for, but this has won me over. It has a very highly-polished glossy air about it that just looks so confident. And I love a black- face watch at any time.
C9 HARRISON JUMPING HOUR Eric: I like everything about the
Jumping Hour. It’s unusual, it’s got loads of superb details – just look at the design on the dial – and it is even easier to read than a regular watch. Even though I am not a watch geek, I like the idea that there is a new movement in this watch. I’d love to show off the C9; it’s a real conversation piece.
Jane: I have never seen any watch like this. Eric would like it because of its historic roots and because it looks so contemporary. He’d take pleasure in its precision and the ease of reading it. The distinctive, personal style of this would appeal to him. I could see this working very well with suits and with casualwear.
Jane: This might appeal to Eric because it looks to me like a classic man’s watch with lots of dials, gadgets, crowns, day and date windows, and so on. Anyone wearing this is saying ‘I’m very busy and important’. The whole look is very distinctive and I like the way that the strap looks.
