Bridal Show Betty is here to share her views and review of everything bridal on TV. And maybe even find a lesson or two.

In this issue, Bridal Show Betty looks at some of the latest reality wedding shows and what you can learn from them.

Hi – I’m Betty – and I’m a bridalshow-aholic. It all started innocently enough – watching Bridezillas and Whose Wedding is it Anyway while I was planning my wedding. But I just can’t get enough! I’ve even sat through all the episodes of Bridalplasty – evidence of my problem. So, I finally found a way to justify my viewing habits. I’m writing this column for WED and rating shows for you with mini-tv’s (1-5 TV’s). But I prefer to stay anonymous – known only by my nom de plume, Bridal Show Betty.

Amsale Girls -WEtv

This gets 4 tv’s for the gowns alone! Just having a backstage look at designer Amsale’s latest collection, her flagship store and the inner workings of this amazing designer makes this a fun show to watch. Add in the consultant and bride drama and you’ve got yourself a party! I really love this new addition to Wedding Sunday and can’t wait for the new season. Catch rerun episodes on WEtv.

Staten Island Cakes—WEtv, Sundays 8 pm

Think Cake Boss—but on Staten Island and not quite as bossy. “Vinny Buzzetta is the executive pastry chef and owner of the go-to bakery for weddings and other special occasions on Staten Island. But he's barely old enough to legally drink and still lives at home.

This boy genius is boss to his own mother, sister and friends. Vinny must learn to navigate his roles as business owner, baker, artist, and find his place in his big, loud Italian family.”

Yup, he’s young—just made a beer cake for his own 21st birthday. But, he’s like-able. And as far as cake shows go, this one is pretty enjoyable. Add it to your Wedding Sunday.
