The folding stock assembly is all solid aluminium and when locked - folded or open - is absolutely rock-solid and, when operating either locking lever, totally silent.
The bolt features three locking-lugs with a solid extractor- claw and bolt-face plunger ejector.
The butt-plate is adjustable for both vertical position and length of pull and the cheek-piece is also vertically adjustable to ensure perfect cheek-weld during firing. Underneath is a hand-stop and butt spike. The spike can be folded horizontally or vertically and a screw adjuster allows the user to precisely alter vertical elevation for precise shot position.
The action itself is bolted to the chassis system, so no ‘bedding’ in the conventional sense, is involved. The bolt features three locking-lugs with a solid extractor- claw and bolt-face plunger ejector. The bolt knob is a large cylindrical polymer ball - to resist any tendency to freeze to your palm in extreme cold conditions. It is very comfortable in use and I have to say, fantastically fast and smooth when in rapid-fire mode - more of which later.
The sound moderator supplied with the rifle is of steel construction and screws onto the muzzle- brake.
The magazine holds ten rounds and is compact as they are held in twin-stack format. The magazine release is again ambidextrous and sits on the bottom of the trigger-guard for easy access. The magazine- follower blocks the bolt in the ‘open’ position after the last round as an `empty` warning but interestingly, a second magazine ‘click’ position allows the bolt to cycle and single rounds to be hand fed. I shot mostly from the magazine and this feature was a simple yet useful addition.
A muzzle-brake is fitted to the barrel and this is a lateral, rather than radial design, meaning you don’t get dust- signature from the ground blown into your face
Moving forward, we reach the M16 style rubberised pistol-grip, above which sits an ambidextrous two- position safety catch - up for safe and down for fire. The bolt can be cycled with the gun in `safe` mode.
The trigger itself was a two-stage design, something not often seen on civilian centrefire rifles. This was the only item that gave me any concern as I’m more used to a ‘glass-break’ two ounce Jewel. The trigger-blade is adjustable for weight, angle and position; it features a small inset Glock-style safety lock so the blade cannot move unless pulled by a finger.
The butt-plate is adjustable for both vertical position and length of pull and the cheek-piece is also vertically adjustable to ensure perfect cheek-weld during firing.

A 30 MOA taper Picatinny rail is bolted to the top of the receiver for scope mounting, although the rifle does feature ‘emergency’ flip-up iron sights, both here and at the muzzle. The 30 minutes of elevation mean scope mounting must be considered carefully as some scopes may not even zero at 100 yards with this much elevation pre-installed. Two small holes at the front of the rail allow the included mirage-band to be clipped in place between this point and the muzzle to eliminate any problems from a hot barrel during extended firing sessions.
