Weir continues to appoint quality people to join its divisions across the world.
André Lacerda has been appointed as Sales Manager with
Weir Power & Industrial France. He joins from Tyco Flow Control where he was area manager for North and South America. André holds a diploma in mechanical engineering from Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, an MBA and has a masters degree in energy management. André will be responsible for busi- ness development and management of the internal and external sales functions at Vendin le Vieil.
Melanie Gee joined the Weir Group Board as a non-executive director in May 2011. She is a Managing Director in Lazard’s UK investment banking business and is an AFME (CFC) alter- nate member of the Takeover Panel. Melanie began her investment banking career in 1982 at S.G, Warburg in London, which became part of UBS, and was named a Managing Director in 1999. She holds a MA in Mathematics from Somerville College, Oxford.
Jonathan Milne has been appointed as Communications Manager, work- ing at Group Head Offi ce in Glasgow. Jonathan joins Vicky Ferrier’s Investor Relations and Communications team and will assist Vicky in developing and communicating the Group’s strategy and performance to all stakeholders. He joins from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, where he was Communications Director. Prior to this, he was a news and current affairs producer and editor with the BBC.
Michael Schoen has been appointed President of Weir
Minerals North America. Michael has a broad background of executive experience, spend- ing his career so far in a number of senior roles with the Briggs & Stratton Corporation. His focus will be on working with
the executive team on establishing and executing a growth strategy for Madison.
Pauline Lafferty has joined the Group as Director of Human Resourc- es, based in Glasgow. Pauline’s spe- cifi c focus will be developing the pool of talent across the group. Pauline was previously a partner in the Miles Partnership, a London based execu- tive search business and worked for several years in the technology sector in business planning and supply chain roles in Australia, Hong Kong and Scotland.
Paul Coppinger has been appointed President of Weir SPM, taking over from Gavin Nicol. Previously President of Circor Energy, a major supplier of integrated fl ow solutions to the global oil and gas industry, Paul will report to Steve Noon, Divisional Managing Director, Weir Oil & Gas Division. Paul is based in Fort Worth, Texas.
