iven that most people around the world saw the events of September 11, 2001, unfold live on televi-
sion, TV seems the most appropriate medium to dissect, discuss and devote space to the subject.
Filmmakers have found numerous ways to approach what happened and as the tenth anniversary approaches have found new ways to analyse 9/11. Steven Spielberg is making The Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero for Discovery. He will executive produce the film, which showcases the efforts of the people constructing the new 104- storey One World Trade Center. Discovery’s show tells the back story and personal stories of those responsible for having the project finished on time. The documentary will air on the Discovery Channel in the US and around the world to coincide with 9/11 anniversary and unveiling of the new Ground Zero site by US president Barack Obama.
