Screenwatch Odd One In

The show: Odd One In The producer: Zeppotron The distributor:Endemol Worldwide Distribution Concept: Comedy gameshow for- mat with celebrity panellists Airing: ITV1 (UK)

Odd One In aired on UK broad- caster ITV1 last summer and Endemol will start shopping it to buyers in the CEE region at Discop.

The show tasks celebrity pan- ellists with finding the “odd one in” – the person with an unusual skill or talent – from a line-up. Each of the two teams can ask questions and is prompted by the quizmaster. The UK version was made by Endemol-owned Zeppotron and fronted by Bradley Walsh with Peter Andre and Jason Manford as panellists. Ahead of Discop, Marina

Williams, Endemol’s CEO of CEE Operations, says the format is

well-suited to the needs of broad- casters across the area. “Broadcasters in this region are looking for light-entertainment primetime shows with comedy elements – they want to be upbeat and positive. It also allows celebrities to participate, which is important in our region.” CEE broadcasters are also reluctant to buy paper formats, so having the finished ITV version to show them helps. Williams says: “In the CEE region you can’t really sell off paper, every- one wants something with a track record. Odd One In got above average ratings on ITV and ITV is a big, well-known channel.”
