New testing hydraulic torque wrenches
C What makes Autobag unique?
According to Cannon’s Arthur Lugg, it’s all about increasing
SECURITY
“Our AB 180s are mainly used to pack spares for the automotive sector.
It’s a market where product
traceability and security are essential – every bag we produce features at least three, sometimes four, security measures to show that the parts contained are genuine.” “The AB 180s are very reliable and easy-to-use, which is why we wouldn’t hesitate to buy more when the time comes. “We buy our bags-on-a-roll from Automated
Packaging Systems and carry several sizes in stock. And this year we’ve also commissioned them to produce two printed bags for us ready for a new contract.”
Oxfordshire-based Cannon Packing and Logistics packs up to 130,000 component units a day using a range of technologies including two Autobag AB 180s. Find out how Autobag can improve your product traceability and security – visit

omprised of a hydraulic tool calibration fixture and a transducer, which link to a torque-measuring instrument, these devices will accurately
calibrate square-drive and hexagon-link torque wrenches. The Hydraulic Wrench Testers will be suited to a variety of end users, such as: organisations with many hydraulic wrenches wishing to avoid the costs and potential delays of using a calibration sub-contractor; tool-hire companies needing to ensure that their wrenches are calibrated before being hired out for a job; and calibration and tool-repair companies or laboratories specialising in providing expert calibration services. They are also suitable for use in industries such as petrochemicals, mining and wind energy. Hydraulic torque wrenches use either square-drive or hollow hexagonal-link outputs, so Norbar has produced a range of hex- to square-drive adaptors to ensure that their test pots are compatible with most hydraulic torque wrenches. The three versions of Norbar Hydraulic Tool Calibration Fixtures have capacities of 7,000, 50,000 and 80,000nm respectively, and are compatible with a range of Norbar transducers extending from 1.5 to 3.5in2 drives.

Safe materials handling for chemical & other hazardous environments
reliable, low-maintenance handling equipment for chemical and other industries subject to hazardous environments. The major safety factor of the JDN products, including cranes, hoists and winches, is their equipment is operated by compressed air (or optionally hydraulics), rather than utilising electric power. This ensures a high degree of explosion-proofness when handling hazardous chemicals or when working in otherwise dangerous environments or atmospheres. Lifting equipment is 100% duty cycle rated, thus eliminating downtime, and can be remotely controlled using pendant cable controllers, or wireless hand- held radio operated units. Equipment safety ratings for use in potentially explosive conditions are Ex II 2 GD IIA T4(X) / II 3 GD IIB T4(X). Increased

Weidmüller's Managed Gigabit Ethernet Switches : High-end Gigabit switches for applications in industrial communications
eidmüller has introduced three new product lines of industrial Ethernet switches – Basic Line, Value Line and Premium Line – to satisfy all communication requirements in industrial environments. Weidmüller's new managed Gigabit switches from the Premium Line family of products have been designed for high-end applications: featuring sophisticated management and security functions, they are suitably equipped to establish cutting-edge network solutions. The devices can be supplied with Gigabit Ethernet or Fast Ethernet ports. Full Gigabit Ethernet and Power-over-Ethernet
W (PoE) versions
round off the programme. These devices increase the reliability and availability of industrial networks thanks to integrated ring redundancy technology (recovery time ≤ 20 ms).
Gigabit versions are designed for use in networks with large volumes of communication data, and optional SFP transceivers provide a high degree of flexibility to support integration into fibre-optic networks. These features ensure the Gigabit Ethernet switches are predestined for communications-intensive applications in distributed sub-networks as well as for high traffic loads in backbone solutions. They support customary Ethernet/IP and Modbus/TCP protocols. Managed Gigabit Ethernet switches have the following approvals and certificates of conformity: CE, FCC, cULus, Class I Div. 2 / Atex, DNV / GL. Weidmüller's Gigabit Ethernet switches are synonymous with high- end network performance, security and reliability. Characteristics that mean they are eminently suitable for deployment as central components in industrial Ethernet networks. Weidmüller's portfolio is full of solutions to fulfil the wide range of customer requirements. The Gigabit Ethernet switches offer diverse connectivity options and combined connector variants for copper and fibre-optic cables. Delivered ex-works in high-quality metal housings (IP 30) Gigabit Ethernet switches from Weidmüller's Premium Line family of products are designed as enterprise-level managed switches. There are versions available with Gigabit uplink ports and Fast Ethernet ports as well as full Gigabit versions with up to 9 gigabit Ethernet ports. Weidmüller's managed Gigabit Ethernet switches fulfil the needs of a wide range of applications: these range from Ethernet applications with high bandwidth requirements (for example, image processing) to central switches in hierarchical networks and networks with designed-in redundancy. Gigabit Ethernet switches are also highly suitable for all data intensive networks incorporating a high density of network nodes.
