ased in Chingford, Inro’s position as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of turned parts has been accomplished with the help of some important strategic decisions made by owner Roger Innes. These have included major investment in the latest CNC turning technology, offering up to 10 axis machining capability, and continuing reliance on the PSL DataTrack business administration software to manage the company’s production procedures. Investment in PSL DataTrack software commenced some ten years ago when Inro’s production was based around multi-spindle automatics.


The


company identified a need for software to manage the administration of parts programming and storage associated with its fast growing turned parts sub-contract engineering business.


A major


order covering the complete assembly of fishing gear meant that Inro needed to know in real time what parts and stocked quantities would be required to fulfil the order. From that time onwards, Inro has made staged investments in the modular PSL DataTrack system, adding new modules as the company’s business has grown and evolved.

recent upgrade to the next generation of high power LEDs means that light output is increased from 200 lumens to 350 lumens, a 75% increase in light output. The XT-70 with Spot and Flood beams is in use at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, Tyne & Wear Fire Rescue Service and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service as portable ATEX general purpose lighting on vehicles. British Gas Centrica and Shell are just two of the major oil and gas companies now using it for maintenance and inspection purposes. International sales are also notably increasing with volume sales to Germany’s industrial sector, the fire fighting sectors in France, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland and in the global marine market where the Wolflite XT is used as a firefighting and general purpose handlamp on oil and gas tankers. The Wolflite XT-90 with additional coloured signal LEDs is utilized in the oil and gas production sector, where it is used with green and red LEDs for helicopter signalling.

ulton has introduced a TDS Energy Recovery System that is designed to increase boiler efficiency and reduce demand on services/utilities, which in turn reduces fuel, water and effluent bills. The system recovers virtually all heat energy from the blowdown and feeds it back into the steam system. This raises the temperature of the feed water directly to the boiler and cold make-up to the hotwell tank. It can also boost the boiler feed water temperature up to 100°C, which helps to prolong the life of the boiler by reducing the pressure drop and thermal shock on the pressure vessel experienced when relatively cold water is added to the boiler. This in turn also helps create a stable steam supply. The system, which is operated using touch-screen controls, displays real time energy and compliance cost savings. It can be specified for new boiler systems or retro-fitted to any existing steam boiler installation.
