Doosan’s ‘forklift of the future’ revealed Dematic takes on Gibraltar terminal
Said to be efficient, environmentally friendly and with the highest level of safety, Doosan hopes the futuristic Intelligent Concept Forklift will propel it forward as leader in the forklift industry. The ICF is intended to provide a dynamic combination of maximum usability and operation providing features that are efficient, environ- mentally friendly and safe. Among the innovations are changes to the operator position, mast properties and drive train. A ‘work guide system’ enables operators to see information about their cargo and interpret the best optimised work process they should apply to it. An extendable counterweight also improves stability and increases loading capacity, but maintaining the minimum turning radius.
Being electrically powered the ICF can reduce emissions, excess noise and fuel costs, meeting all future international envi- ronmental standards guidelines. The rechargeable battery enables faster recharging, providing increased work time and productivity.

The arrivals circuit consists of two pier conveyors where bags are unloaded, and then carried by two independent conveyor paths to two flat arrival carousels. The baggage handling and screening system is supervised by a SCADA control system, which integrates the operation of fire doors.
