BE WHOLESALE ADVERTORIAL
BE Wholesale takes broadband to higher levels
Four months into its launch into the channel, business class broadband provider BE Wholesale has convinced a number of resellers to switch customers over to its high bandwidth network, so we were keen to learn more about the background to BE Wholesale and phase two of the company’s channel recruitment drive. Dan Cunliffe, Head of BE Wholesale, answered our questions
Q: If a reseller hasn’t yet heard of BE Wholesale, what’s the story?
A: BE Wholesale is a genuine and refreshing alternative to the old, established broadband carriers. We are an LLU carrier with over 70% coverage in the UK and we’re not weighed down by 20 years of legacy network systems. Our superfast network was built in 2005 for business connectivity and is premised on the latest ADSL2+ technologies. Other providers with ageing networks may promise ‘next generation’ broadband, but for our customers it’s NOW generation broadband.
Q: What are the key benefits to customers? A: Our all-fibre backhaul and uncongested network is designed specifically for the latest high bandwidth
applications. The latest, high quality ADSL2+ and Annex M technologies combine to deliver superfast download (24 Mb/s) and upload (1.3 to 2.5 Mb/s) speeds that are between 30 per cent and 150 per cent faster than any other DSL provider. We offer abundant bandwidth, so there’s minimal contention and no congestion. Also, we are the only DSL network currently available in the UK that delivers Annex- M with Cisco routers.
Q: Why should a potential partner think about switching customers to BE Wholesale? A: At the heart of our difference is our network which delivers speed, capacity and consistency. Our customer support is based on strong relationships and partners
deal with individuals who understand their needs. Our heritage is in the consumer space, meeting the demands of users who accept nothing less than the fastest, most reliable and bandwidth-rich connectivity.
Q: So is it easy for resellers to migrate customers across? A: Absolutely! We offer the fastest migration in the market. The process of transferring customers is so simple it can be done at the flick of a switch with no need to do a site visit, change or reprogramme the end user’s router. We offer full visibility into the networkright up to port level. This transparency means a partner has full control over their service proposition and its customer support team isn’t reliant on a third party for information.
Q: How do you work with your partners? A: BE Wholesale only sells to the Channel, not direct. We offer partners two industry- leading solutions, so they can select the one that best fits their business mode. The first is a managed solution that provides the partner with full connectivity through an easy to use portal. BE Wholesale manages the traffic, while giving the connectivity partner the visibility and control they need to deliver compelling new services to end users. The second is a solution that allows partners to connect to the BE Wholesale network via the L2TP layer, providing maximum autonomy and flexibility. This enables connectivity partners to offer high-quality solutions tailored precisely to the needs of their customers.
Q : What guarantees on price and quality can BE Wholesale provide? A: We don’t believe in price surprises like the other wholesale providers in the market. We offer both a fixed price model for unlimited usage as well as a more traditional usage based on a 95th percentile model. We provide Service Level Assurances and Guarantees to drive maximum performance,
with minimal jitter, latency and packet loss. Abundant capacity also means that, unlike other networks, there’s no need for line management or throttling. We are continually investing in our network enabling the highest level of traffic prioritisation and our seamless rate adaption offers partners greater stability and reliability for their customers, thereby lowering the number of support calls and offering more resilience. This is particularly important with the increased demand for VoiP and conferencing.
Q: What can the channel expect from BE Wholesale in the future? A: We’re actively developing our network offering and constantly improving quality. We are planning a phased roll out of other last mile access technologies such as Ethernet plus Fibre to the Cabinet and Fibre to the Premises.
Q: So, what’s the outlook for the channel for the next 6-12 months? A: The Cloud is still growing, although whether it will grow as quickly as the hype would have us believe is debatable. What is certain is that the need for reliable and resilient connectivity becomes more important than ever.
