His wide range of interests is reflected in just a few of the many organizations he has served as a board member: Bon Secours Richmond Health System, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, The Virginia Business Council, The Virginia Performing Arts Foundation; and Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges.
Michael A. (Mike) Gaffney - Director. Mike is the President and CEO of Gaffney Homes, a full service building firm serving Charlottesville and Albemarle County. He
is a Past Chairman of The Paramount Board of Directors, he is finishing his eighth year as Chairman of the Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority and Rivanna Solid Waste Authority. He has served on the Advisory Board for I Have a Dream Foundation and the Sonabank, N.A. Board of Directors. He has served on the Blue Ridge Homebuilders Association Board, and as President in 1995, and was Chairman of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce Board in 2002.
Mike received his MBA from UVA’s
Darden School of Business in 2008. Some of Mike’s top interests include skiing, whitewater rafting, UVA Sports, hiking and running marathons.
Mark Giles - Director , Audit Committee Chair. Mark Giles is the non- executive chairman of Virginia National Bank. He was elected chairman of VNB’s Board
of Directors in 2005, after having served as ceo and a director since 1998. He also is the sole managing member of Panda Holdings, LLC, a Virginia limited liability company that makes private investments; and he is active in varying degrees in the management of the companies in which Panda has made investments. Mr. Giles serves on the boards of the Thomas Jefferson Area United Way; the Computers4Kids Program; and the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce; and serves on the board and finance committee of Martha Jefferson Hospital. In 1977, Mark received a B.S. degree in Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia; and he received a J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1980. Mark and his wife Judy have three children, Eleanor, Henry and Margaret.
Leslie Gilliam - Director. Leslie’s mother always said she had a “flair for the dramatic,” and not surprisingly, that flair led her to a job in marketing and a lifetime
love of theater and the performing arts. In the past twenty years, while rearing her three children, she has enjoyed directing community relationships for the family’s company, Cumberland Resources. Her service on the boards of Barter Theatre, Virginia Highlands Festival, and the American Cancer Society, as well as volunteering and fundraising for the Covenant School, Martha Jefferson Hospital, and host of others continue to be an important part of Leslie’s life.
