Arts Education Program REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The Arts Education Program provides the opportunity for all students to experience the performing arts in our beautiful, restored Paramount Theater.

1. The 2010-11 Arts Education Performances go on sale Monday, August 23, 2010, at 9:00 am.
Educate, Enlighten, And Empower, and thus are a fundamental component of a rich and excellent education. The arts promote discipline, self-esteem, cultural literacy, creativity, critical thinking, and a passion to actively learn. Reading comes alive through theater; hands-on Science programs and workshops make learning fun; Music and Dance bring rhythms, voices, and understanding of peoples all over the world.
2. Print out the Registration Form found on our website at http://
www.theparamount.net/education-outreach/arts-education- program/ Fill out the form completely, providing all contact information.
3. To register, bring the form to The Paramount on Monday, Au- gust 23, 2010, or mail to The Paramount Theater, 215 East Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Reservations received by mail before August 23, will be date stamped August 23. You will be no- tified of your registration status by e-mail within 3 weeks.
The Paramount is committed to providing high quality and diverse arts education programming for area school children, reaching the broadest possible audience by offering tickets at a reduced cost or, in some cases, free of charge.
4. Payment in full is appreciated with your reservation. If this is not possible, payment may be made any time up to 30 days be- fore the performance. Please write your school’s name, perfor- mance date, and performance title on all checks submitted for payment.
5. A maximum of 1 adult for 10 students and a minimum of 1 adult for 20 students is required. Home school families may have 1 adult per household in attendance. The Arts Education Program is funded for school children. The rule, therefore, is strictly enforced.
Each year, The Paramount offers eight educational performances from musicals and drama, to poetry, dance, music and science, targeted for grades preK-12. Since 2004, more than 63,000 students from 18 counties and cities in Central Virginia have attended live educational theater at The Paramount. Study guides are offered to every participating school and performances are linked with VA Standards of Learning.
Arts Education Performances are for children age 4 and above. We request that you do not bring children under 4 years old.
The Paramount also offers two week long summer residencies of the Missoula Children’s Theatre which involves over 100 local youth auditioning, rehearsing, and performing on the Paramount’s stage in a musical production.
6. Most Arts Education Performances sell out. To accommodate as many school groups as possible, please list the performances in order of your preference. If a performance is sold out, we may be able to add a second show at 12:30 pm. Please indicate if you would be able to attend a performance at that time.

Orders for all performances may be submitted at any time throughout the season after Monday, August 23, 2010.
