Mary Beth Aungier - General Manager. General Manager since July 2008, Mary Beth’s career in the music industry spans close to 30 years. She was the Studio Manager at Bias Recording Studio in Washington, DC, working closely with such clients as Nils Lofgren, Doc Watson, Alison Krauss, Dave Matthews, Pete Seeger, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and others. As a tour manager beginning 1990, she worked on the road for 17 years primarily with 5-time Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter, as well as artists Lucinda Williams, Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Shawn Colvin, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, John Prine, Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks and Carlene Carter. She earned two Pollstar Tour of the Year awards, for best overall tour in the industry. She is a member of NARAS, Americans for the Arts and contributes frequently to LHAT, furthering the mission of historic theaters and their importance to the community revitalization.
Robert E. Benjamin - Technical Manager. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Robert is a recent graduate of the University of South Carolina. He served as the
Lighting Designer for several USC Aiken theatre productions including The Joy of Going Somewhere Definite, Inherit the Wind, A Moon for the Misbegotten, and the World Première of Wax Work. Several of his designs have been nominated for regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival awards. Robert first came to Charlottesville working as both an Electrician and a Carpenter for Heritage Repertory Theatre. Most recently he served as the Associate Lighting Designer to Dr. David Weiss for the World Premiere of Windblown. Robert would like to thank David Weiss for his unending support and guidance over the years, as well as his parents for all of the sacrifices they have made to see their son succeed.
Sandra L. DeKay - Assistant to the General Manager. Sandy is a life-long resident of Charlottesville. As a child, she and her family made weekly outings to
The Paramount and she retains a passion for classic movies, in particular the silent era in all its cinematic and cultural manifestations. She holds a Bachelors Degree with Honors in History from the University of Virginia. Following graduation, she worked for four years as a staff archaeologist at Monticello. From 1984 to 2001, she indulged her dual passions for history and books, working simultaneously as Assistant Director for the Albemarle County Historical Society and at the New Dominion Bookshop. In 2001, she was offered her dream job at The Paramount and currently serves as the Assistant to the General Manager.
Gary Green - Systems Engineer. Gary Green began working in live event audio in 1978. Prior to coming to The Paramount, Gary owned a sound company; earned
a B.S. in Education from the University of Virginia and an A.A.S. Mental Health
