Our Board Members
Michael R. (Mike) Benzian - Director. Mike Benzian was named Silverchair’s Chief Business Development Officer in January 2009. Prior to this role, Mike served as
the President of Silverchair Learning Systems (SLS)
www.silverchairlearning.com and led the subsidiary’s strong growth from 2004 to 2008. Mike brings 10 years experience in start-up software and ‘software as a service’ ventures, with specific expertise in product marketing and go-to-market strategy. He received his BA from the University of Virginia and his MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business. Mike and his family have made Charlottesville their home since 2004.
Penny Bosworth - Director, Education Committee Chair. Penny has been in Charlottesville since the 1960s. She volunteered as program Director of the
Charlottesville-Albemarle Chapter of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. She also served as a board member of FOCUS, the Charlottesville Downtown Association and SARA. Penny’s business, Signet Gallery, has been a fixture in the downtown area since 1979.
Michelle Delang Conner - Director, Outreach Committee Chair. Michelle has worked within the local business and advertising community for Brad Eure and
now Charlottesville Radio Group for fifteen years. She loves music, reading, tennis
and traveling and has a true passion for our community. Michelle serves on Albemarle County’s Special Ed Advisory Committee and also enjoys creating fundraising events for local non-profits, including WINA’s Mac McDonald Invitational and Bad Pants Bash for UVA Children’s Hospital. Of her fondness for The Paramount, she says, “I have such wonderful memories of my Mom taking me to the beautiful theaters in Boston as a young girl! I am thrilled to serve the Paramount for many reasons, but most of all for what it affords our children - unforgettable cultural experiences they will carry with them throughout their lives.”
Ty Cooper - Director. Ty serves on the Board of Directors of First Night Virginia and the Board of Trustees of Play On! Theatre at the Ix. He served as the Director of Publicity
for Earth Week Charlottesville’s Eco-Fair at the Pavilion. Ty is the co-owner of the environmentally friendly Eco Dry Cleaners.
Alison S. Dickie - Secretary. Alison is the Publisher of albemarle magazine. She serves on the Presidents Council of the International Regional Magazine Association, The
Advisory Council of Piedmont Virginia Community College, Corporate Committee for UVA Children’s Hospital, Development Committee for the Virginia Film Festival, Virginia Food & Wine Society’s Advisory Board. She is an active member of the Blue Ridge Home
