Harvey Industries Buys South Carolina Diecaster Harvey Industries Die-Casting
LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Harvey Industries LLC, Livonia, Mich., announced it has acquired the
diecasting assets of R.E. Phelon Com- pany Inc., Aiken, S.C. According to a press release issued by Harvey Industries, the acquired
operation has reported annual sales of approximately $24 million, 130 em- ployees and 100,000 sq. ft. of manu- facturing space. Harvey Industries expects the acquisition to expand its geographic footprint and build on its aluminum casting capabilities. Harvey Industries provides alu- minum and iron castings, machining, assembly and polymer injection mold- ing. In addition to the new property in South Carolina, it runs casting facilities in Wabash, Ind., and Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, a warehouse and dis- tribution center in Laredo, Texas, and a machine shop in Westland, Mich. R.E. Phelon designs and manu-
factures engine electronics, ignition systems, alternator-stators, charg- ing systems and voltage regulators. Te company’s aluminum diecasting operations produce flywheels, castings, and components used in the lawn and garden, power generation, commercial lighting, appliance and industrial markets.
ITC Revokes Magnesium Antidumping Order on Russia
Te U.S. International Trade
Commission (ITC) announced it has revoked the antidumping order on magnesium from Russia but continued the order on Chinese magnesium. ITC said in a press release it
determined that revoking the existing antidumping duty order on magne- sium from Russia would not “be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reason- ably foreseeable time.” However, the commission found that revoking the Chinese order would be likely to lead to such injury. Te action was conducted under
