Corinthian Yacht Club of Tacoma

(CYCT) is conducting a “Membership Drive Cruise” to Dockton, in Quarter Master Harbor. We will be serving fresh crab and oysters. The CYCT initiation fee will be

waived for new members joining the club during this event. New members are invited to join a community of racers, cruisers and sailing educators. The club provides an exceptional blend of monthly cruising events and weekly racing activities throughout the year. During the summer months CYCT

offers a ‘Junior Sailing’ program for young sailing enthusiasts. Membership with the CYCT includes reciprocal privileges. To learn more about CYCT call Fred (253) 223-6934 or email: CYCTmembership@gmail.com or visit: www.cyct.com

Longbranch Marina Reopened

Longbranch is a popular South

Sound stop-over, and especially popular as a destination for boating club cruises. Open all year, but hours vary in the winter. The Marina has 800 feet of side- tie dock space for guest moorage, 30 amp power, portable toilets only, no showers, BBQ and WiFi availability. No reservations, first come, first served basis. However, if a group is coming in it is best to call ahead and we make every effort to service them. The guest moorage tie rails are painted yellow. The docks have a large covered area with roll-down canvas sides, very popular for group gatherings. We also have propane heaters in the pavillion as well as the BBQ. We look forward to seeing you soon!. Longbranch Improvement Club

With over 600 tow boats spread

across the country responding to over 60,000 routine requests from boaters for on-the-water assistance, the law of averages dictates that the captains of these vessels are bound to run into life- threatening emergencies. And, as with any heroic act, the captain is faced with the split-second decision to either step in, putting them in harms way to try to save the individual, or to call for help. BoatUS Towing Services honored

12 of its TowBoatUS and Vessel Assist captains with its annual BoatUS “Woody Pollack Lifesaving Award” at a ceremony that capped off the group’s annual conference held in Long Beach, CA. One such honoree was Capt. John
