So they kindly took Frosty in so that he could be warm and have a friend. You may have seen them being put together on Countryfile a couple of weeks ago.

So the warm kitchen was just for the family for Christmas but I dare say, it will be very busy soon.

It hasn’t been the best start to 2011, with the decision on the badger cull yet to be announced. Also now the possibility of forests being sold, the very habitat where much of our wildlife lives and in some cases, the only opportunity that some people have in getting ‘close’ to nature. We all have to find new ways of reducing costs but the price of losing our wildlife and habitats is just too much to pay.

Evidently there is to be a trial costing £100,000 to ‘cull’ crows and magpies starting in March 2011. This is to be carried out by the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust. Areas to be considered are sites in Hampshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire,

Herefordshire and the Scottish Borders. This is being instigated by the Songbird Survival Trust. The RSPB is totally against it, maintaining that the loss of songbirds is mainly due to intensive farming which is robbing songbirds of their food and habitat.

I hope you will help us in making the Government realise that we value wildlife and are not prepared to see it sacrificed.

With best wishes,

Pauline Kidner Charity Founder
