EADWATERS INCORPORATED (NYSE: HW), a diversified building products company de-
dicated to improving sustainability by transforming underutilized resources into valuable products, announced results for its December 31, 2010 quar- ter, the first quarter of fiscal 2011. The Company’s first quarter 2011 revenue of $154.7 million in- creased 11% compared to $139.6 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2009, representing the third consecutive quarter of year-over-year revenue growth.
Adjusted EBITDA in the December 2010 quarter was $17.9 million, a 23% increase from $14.6 million in the December 2009 quarter. The operating loss in the December 2010 quarter was $(2.5) million, com- pared to $(6.3) million in the December 2009 quar- ter. Primarily as a result of a change in the recogniti- on of tax benefits, the net loss in the December 2010 quarter was $(20.7) million, or $(0.34) per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $(13.9) million, or $(0.23) per diluted share in 2009. If tax benefits were recognized on the same basis in the December 2010 quarter as they were in December 2009, the net loss in the December 2010 quarter would have been $(10.2) million, or $(0.17) per diluted share,
a $0.06 or 26% improvement in earnings per share compared to 2009.

BM (NYSE: IBM) and Samsung will collaborate on basic research into new semiconductor materials,
manufacturing processes and other technologies. The agreement calls for the two companies to jointly develop new semiconductor process technology that can be used in a broad range of applications – from smart phone handsets to communications infrastruc- ture. For the first time, Samsung researchers will join IBM scientists in the Semiconductor Research Alliance at the Albany Nanotech Complex, A lba- ny, N.Y., USA. The agreement also renews IBM and Samsung‘s joint process development agreement (JDA) to multiple nodes starting at 20nm. Solutions for CMOS technology at 20-nanometers and beyond will be presented at the Common Platform Technolo- gy forum on January 18, 2011 at Santa Clara Con- vention center.
