METALCASTING SUPPLIES

Stress-Relieving Oven Grieve’s No. 842 high temperature, 1,250F, electrically-

heated inert atmosphere oven is used for various stress relieving operations. The oven has 10-in. insulated walls, aluminized steel exterior and Type 304, 2B finish stainless steel interior, plus three roller rails at the bottom of the workspace to support 2,000-lb. loads. Safety and control

equipment onboard include a 675 CFM blower to pull air through an air jacket on the inner oven for cooling, digital-indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate contactors, recirculating blower airflow safety switch, 10-in. diameter circular chart recorder and SCR power controller. Visit www.grievecorp.com for more information.

Air Filtration The KMA Ultravent is a heavy duty waste air filtration

system for filtering smoke (consisting of oil or grease), dust or emulsions in metalcasting and diecasting facilities. The filters are available with a variety of media, including demisters, electrostatic precipitators and fabric filters, or a combination of the three. An automatic filter cleaning system keeps required maintenance low. For smoke aspiration from large machines, KMA offers a variety of fume extraction hoods available in stationary or movable execution, as well as air curtain extraction systems. Visit www.kma-filter.de for more information.

Molten Metal Delivery Pyrotek Metaullics’ Overflow Transfer System (OTS)

provides a new way to move and deliver molten metal from a melting furnace. It was designed to transfer metal at a wide range of flow rates. A shaft/impeller assembly raises the metal by moving it gently from the bottom to the top of the one-piece cast refractory transfer bowl. Once the metal reaches the top, it discharges via a launder, with no need for transfer piping. Compared to transfer pumps, the OTS is able to deliver metal with less dross and increased quality due to reduced metal turbulence. Visit www.pyrotek.info/metaullics for more information.
