WHAT’S NEW Get stuck in
Two new Digidelta media ranges are now available in the UK from Amari Digital Supplies (ADS).
Both the Decal Adhesive: Think Green and Décor.Tex textile wall covering ranges feature common acResin UV adhesive technology developed by BASF. This is said to offer a safer and more efficient alternative to conventional adhesives and is based on a combined solvent- free hot melt resin and UV-curing process. Benefits are listed as resistance to ageing, heat and water ingress, as well as clarity on the Think Green gloss clear product.
The 100-micron PVC film in the Think Green range incorporates a clay- coated liner and is available in four different formats: gloss and matt white, gloss clear and block-out. All ‘white’ products are supplied with either a removable or permanent adhesive and provide a performance life of four years. The range is ideal for outdoor applications on flat surfaces and films are available in roll sizes of 50m long with a choice of four widths. Available in 11 graphics manifestations for internal wall-covering applications, the Décor.Tex range is100 per cent polyester UV and solvent-printable. Materials are supplied with a choice of finish, comprising
Vision enhances machining capability
Owners of CNC routing machines supplied by AXYZ International can now retrofit a new AXYZ Vision System (AVS). It uses a low-cost camera that can be mounted on the machine head, either as an optional feature or as an upgrade to existing installations.
Powered by dedicated software integrated in the recently launched A2MC machine control, the primary application for AVS is in digital print finishing where the camera is able to recognise registration marks and adjust the machine’s cutting path
accordingly to achieve exact alignment with printed shapes. The AVS is compatible with all cutting tools including oscillating, tangential and drag knife systems and can be used on any AXYZ machine. All program adjustments are made by AVS via the machine controller at the time of cutting and are separate from initial tool path creation, which can be achieved in any machine programming system.

www.axyz.co.uk Stable approach to ecology
Developed to combine ecology with dimensional stability, Antacote Lite is a new 100 per cent recyclable retail hanging signage solution from Antalis McNaughton.
It is said to offer all of the benefits and printability of traditional foam centred products, but unlike polystyrene or rigid polyurethane foam (PUR) centred alternatives, Antacote Lite is recyclable and programme for the endorsement of forest certification (PEFC) accredited. Market manager for Antalis McNaughton, Chris Green, said: “Antacote Lite offers an environmental solution for hanging signage. It’s more environmentally friendly than using foam boards, but also stronger and lighter and unlike standard display board or corrugated products used in retail hanging signage, Antacote Lite remains flat and dimensionally stable.”

Blueprint for large scale perfection
Canon UK has added two new 44in high-speed colour production large format printers to its range: the ImagePrograf iPF815 and iPF825. The new five-colour devices are updates to the iPF810 and iPF820 with various new features for users in the architecture, engineering and construction, mechanical CAD, electronic design automation, geographical information systems and point of sale markets. One enhancement is the new accounting and cost-tracking software, which helps users collect print job data and calculate print costs. A built-in economy print mode is ideal for quick check plots and proofs and also helps lower overall production costs.
LFP product manager, Canon UK, Gill Mussell, said: “Canon has been successful in the CAD and GIS market with its 24 and 36in models, so the 44in version is a natural extension for this sector. We are confident the new systems will provide fast print speeds and accuracy to users who demand detail in architectural plans and blue- prints.
”The printers boast exceptional line reproduction, with a minimum line width of 0.02mm and 1,200dpi printing. Both models are capable of printing a full-density A1 colour plot in 24 seconds and up to 120 A1 plots per hour. A0-sized plots print in 45 seconds.
