Interline Brands, vendors donate products to Habitat
JACkSONVILLE, FLA. – Interline Brands has teamed with 150 of its vendor partners to donate more than $35,000 in products to Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville Inc. (Habi- Jax). After Interline Brands’ Annual Partners Conference, held at the Gay- lord Palms Resort in Orlando, the company and its suppliers con- tributed hundreds of faucets, plumb- ing fittings, bathroom fixtures, HVAC equipment, electrical prod- ucts, cleaning supplies, and light fix- tures to HabiJax. This marks the third consecutive year that Interline and its suppliers have donated product to charitable organizations following the conference. The donated products will be sold
at the HabiJax ReStore, a 38,000- square-foot home improvement re- tail outlet where new and refurbished home products are sold to the public. Proceeds from the Re- Store provide an important source of funding for HabiJax to build and renovate high-quality, affordable housing for low-income families in the Jacksonville area. All products
and materials sold at the ReStore have been donated. “We’re proud that we have built a
relationship with Habitat for Human- ity of Jacksonville to help revitalize affordable housing in the city of Jack- sonville,” said Anthony Scott, Inter- line Brands’ vice president- merch an dising. “We’re also excited that over 150 of our valued suppliers contributed products that will be sold at the ReStore to raise funds that will enrich the lives of people in Jack- sonville for years to come. “We thank our suppliers for their
generosity and shared commitment to Habitat for Humanity. In addition to the product donation, Interline also supports HabiJax through the time and efforts of our employees who volunteer to work with HabiJax to as- sist the organization in their drive to improve the urban landscape and quality of life for Jacksonville home- owners and their families.” HabiJax has helped over 1,750 families realize their dream of home- ownership. passed away December 1, at home after fighting a courageous battle with prostate cancer. True to his na- ture, he never lost his upbeat, positive attitude. When asked how he was, Lafferty would always reply, “You know me. I’ve never had a bad day.” He did not let his illness define him; instead he passionately promoted prostate cancer awareness. Lafferty walked for three years in
the “Gary Papa Run 4 Your Life” run/walk in Philadelphia. Last June when he participated in the walk de- spite his pain, he was top fundraiser for the third year in a row. Lafferty also shared his experiences and ad- vice for others battling the disease. Lafferty graduated from Malvern
Preparatory School, Class of 1990, and from Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vt., Class of 1994, and made lifelong friends at both. He was an owner and sales manager with Penn- sylvania Machine Works in Aston and worked alongside family and friends every day. Lafferty was also a talented drummer in bands, playing with both Bigg Romeo and Love Train. He loved being on stage with both.
five-year-old son Gavin were his daily inspiration. Despite any pain he felt, he always found a smile and words of encouragement for them both. He was outgoing, loving, self- less and passionate about life. He loved his family and friends, music, the Eagles, spending time in Avalon, N.J., cooking out, parties and enjoy- ing the company of friends. Lafferty’s presence would always light up a room. He is survived by his loving and
supportive wife Jennifer (nee Fulton) and beloved son Gavin, both of Springfield; parents Ronald and Suzanne Lafferty of Newtown Square; brother Ron (Dean) Lafferty of Springfield; sister Suzie (Ron) Flynn of West Chester; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lee and Denise Fulton of Springfield; sister-in-law Stephanie (Stephen) Lucas of Springfield; and eight nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial dona-
tions in Lafferty’s name may be sent to The Four Diamonds Fund to help children battling cancer at: A120 PO Box 852 Hershey, PA 17033-0852.
